Terms of use

The rules for using KerbProof, for buyers, sellers and traders.

Last updated 4 November 2026

1. About these terms

KerbProof is run by KerbProof Ltd (00000000). By using KerbProof you agree to these terms. You must be 18 or over to film a live check or open an account.

2. What KerbProof is, and isn’t

KerbProof lets a seller publish a record of a vehicle, filmed live and compared with some of its public MOT record. It is not a mechanical inspection, a history check, a valuation or a guarantee of anything. It can’t show hidden faults, outstanding finance, write-offs, theft or legal ownership. KerbProof is not a party to any sale, never handles payments, and is not connected to the DVSA, the DVLA or any government body.

3. Sellers

  • Only film a vehicle you are entitled to sell, and only with the live camera, as the steps ask.
  • Answer the seller statement honestly. It is shown as your own words.
  • Keep people out of shot, and cover any names and addresses on documents you photograph.
  • If you sell vehicles as a business, you must use a trader account.
  • You can withdraw your KerbProof record at any time. It expires after 14 or 30 days, or immediately if you change the mileage.

4. Buyers

  • Don’t use KerbProof to harass a seller or to try to find a vehicle or person.
  • A KerbProof record shows what the seller filmed and when. View the vehicle and do your own checks before paying.

5. Traders

  • Your business details must be accurate. They are shown on every KerbProof record and your stock page.
  • The subscription is £49 a month plus VAT after a 90-day free trial. No contract; cancel any time from your billing page.
  • Do not make claims about KerbProof (for example “inspected” or “guaranteed”) that it does not support.

6. Acceptable use

No fake, edited or recycled footage; no attempts to defeat the live checks; no offensive content; no scraping; no use to locate or track a vehicle or person. We may remove content and close accounts that break these rules, and report suspected fraud to the police.

7. Our responsibility

We take reasonable care to run KerbProof as described in How our checks work. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Your statutory rights are not affected.

8. Complaints and law

See our complaints process. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales; if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also bring proceedings there.
