See the vehicle as it is — before you travel.
Sellers film a 3-minute live check: cold start, mileage, tyres, every angle, matched against the official MOT history. Seen “KerbProof checked” on an advert? Look it up here.

What this doesn’t prove
This isn’t a mechanical inspection. It can’t show hidden faults, outstanding finance or legal ownership.
The difference
What you won’t find on Facebook or AutoTrader
An advert shows a vehicle at its best. A KerbProof record shows it as it was on the day — and says plainly what it can’t show.
A cold start, with sound
From turning the key, until the warning lights go out.
Mileage matched to the MOT
Photographed on the day, checked against every MOT reading.
Filmed live, provably
A one-off code on paper next to the number plate, timestamped by us.
Every tyre, with a 20p
So you can see the tread for yourself.
Dashboard, engine running
Any warning light stays on screen, not hidden.
A walk-round video
Every side, in one take. No flattering angles picked later.
MOT history, decoded
Mileage chart, gaps and repeat advisories in plain English.
Advisories answered
What the last MOT flagged, and whether the seller says it was fixed.
How it works
No links needed
Advertising sites strip links, so KerbProof works with plain text.
If you’re selling
- 1
Film the 3-minute check
In the KerbProof app, or straight from your phone’s browser. Each step shows an outline to line up.
- 2
Get your KerbProof ID
Something like KP-7H3Q4X. Your record is matched against the official MOT history.
- 3
Put it in your advert
“KerbProof checked — look up the reg or ID KP-7H3Q4X at kerbproof.com”. Plain text, so every site allows it.
If you’re buying
- 1
Spot it in an advert
“KerbProof checked”, a KerbProof ID, or a trader who says they have a profile.
- 2
Look it up here
Type the registration, the ID or the trader’s name. No app, no account.
- 3
See it as it is
What was filmed and when, what matched, and what couldn’t be checked — before you travel.
An example record
Evidence, not a sales pitch
Every record says what was filmed, when, what matched the MOT record — and what we couldn’t check.

What this doesn’t prove
This isn’t a mechanical inspection. It can’t show hidden faults, outstanding finance or legal ownership.
When it was filmed
Server time, stamped when each photo arrived. Not the time on the phone.
The one-off code
A 4-digit code written on paper and filmed next to the plate. It only works for that one session.
What matched the MOT record
The plate, the colour and the mileage, each checked against DVSA data.
What we couldn't check
Shown just as plainly as the rest. A blank is never dressed up as a pass.
Selling?
Prove it once. Answer every buyer.
Film it in about three minutes with the KerbProof app or your phone’s browser. Serious buyers look it up before they message, so you spend less time on time-wasters. Free for private sellers.
For traders
No forecourt? No problem.
A record for every vehicle, filmed from the app, and a profile buyers can search by your trading name. Put “KerbProof profile” in your adverts and look as solid as the big dealers.
Honest answers
Before you ask
What is a KerbProof record?
A live check the seller filmed on their phone — walk-round, cold start, mileage, tyres, dashboard — matched against the vehicle’s official MOT history, with every photo and video timestamped by us as it arrived. Buyers find it on kerbproof.com by registration or KerbProof ID.
Why not just put a link in the advert?
Facebook Marketplace, AutoTrader, Gumtree and eBay usually remove or block links. Text is fine, so sellers write “KerbProof checked” and their KerbProof ID, and buyers look it up here. Where links are allowed, sellers can share one too.
Do I need an app?
Buyers never do — everything is on the website. Sellers and traders film with the KerbProof app, or in their phone’s browser if they’d rather not install anything.
Is this a mechanical inspection?
No. A KerbProof record shows the vehicle exists, what it looked and sounded like on the day, and how that compares with its MOT record. It can't find hidden mechanical faults, outstanding finance or prove who legally owns it. Get a history check and view it before paying.
Can a seller fake it?
It's much harder than faking an advert. Only the phone's live camera works — there's no way to upload old photos. A one-off code has to be filmed next to the number plate, every file is stamped with our server's clock, and the whole thing must be done within 30 minutes. The plate is matched to the registration, and if two different sellers record the same registration we warn buyers — that's a classic sign of a cloned plate.
Who can see a record?
Anyone who enters the registration or KerbProof ID while the record is live. It disappears from search the moment it's sold, withdrawn or expires. We never show a private seller's name or contact details — buyers message them through us.
What does it cost?
Nothing for buyers or private sellers, ever. Traders get 90 days free, then £49 a month with no contract.
